Shoulder Stem Cell Therapy in Los Angeles

Shoulder pain can make it hard to reach overhead, sleep on your side or get through a workout. Stem Cells LA offers non-surgical shoulder stem cell therapy for rotator cuff problems, tendon pain and shoulder arthritis from our clinic at 1970 S Prospect Ave, Suite #2, in Redondo Beach, serving patients across Los Angeles and the South Bay.

Shoulder Conditions We Evaluate for Stem Cell Therapy

Patients come to us for shoulder stem cell therapy with problems like these:

  • Rotator cuff tendinopathy and partial tears: pain on the outside of the shoulder, weakness when lifting, and pain at night.
  • Shoulder tendinitis and bursitis: inflammation of the tendons or the bursa that cushions them, often from overuse.
  • Shoulder osteoarthritis: wear of the cartilage in the joint, with stiffness and grinding.
  • Chronic shoulder pain after an injury or after surgery that has not fully settled.

Complete tendon tears with retraction, dislocations and some labral injuries may need a surgical opinion. If imaging suggests that, we tell you.

How Shoulder Stem Cell Therapy Works

We use allograft stem cells from donated umbilical cords. The cord blood is processed into a solution with mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), other supporting cells, exosomes, cytokines and growth factors. MSCs release signaling molecules associated with lower inflammation and tissue repair, and they can develop into tissue types such as tendon, cartilage and bone.

The solution is injected into the injured tendon, the joint or the tissue around it. The aim of shoulder stem cell therapy is to calm inflammation and support healing in tissue that has a limited blood supply and is often slow to recover on its own. Research is ongoing and results vary, so we explain the evidence for your shoulder before you decide.

Many shoulder patients pair treatment with physical therapy to rebuild strength and range of motion. Some also add exosome therapy.

Shoulder Stem Cell Therapy vs Other Shoulder Treatments

  • Physical therapy is the foundation for most shoulder problems and works well for many people.
  • Cortisone injections can relieve pain for a while, but repeated injections into tendons are often limited.
  • Rotator cuff surgery can be necessary for large tears, but it usually means a sling, a long rehab and months before full use.

Shoulder stem cell therapy is an injection-based option for patients who are not getting enough relief from conservative care and want to avoid or delay surgery. It does not replace surgery when a tear truly needs repair.

What to Expect at Your Shoulder Appointment

1. Consultation

We review your shoulder history, imaging and past treatments, and how the pain affects your day.

2. A shoulder plan

If stem cell therapy fits, we explain where we will inject, whether to add exosomes and how many sessions to expect.

3. Injection visit

Treatment is done in our Redondo Beach clinic, with no surgery and no general anesthesia.

4. Recovery and follow-up

Most patients return to light activity quickly. We give you aftercare instructions and follow your progress.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Shoulder Stem Cell Therapy?

Good candidates usually have rotator cuff tendon pain, a partial tear, tendinitis, bursitis or early shoulder arthritis that has not improved enough with rest and physical therapy. Athletes, people who work with their arms overhead and anyone hoping to avoid shoulder surgery often ask about it. A consultation is the only way to know whether shoulder stem cell therapy makes sense for you.

Why Los Angeles Patients Choose Stem Cells LA for Shoulder Stem Cell Therapy

  • Honest answers: we tell you when we think stem cell therapy is unlikely to help, and when another specialist is the better next step.
  • A regenerative medicine clinic, not a research center: our patient blog cites third-party scientific sources so you can check the research yourself.
  • Ethically sourced allograft cells: donated umbilical cord stem cells, with no harvesting procedure from your own bone marrow or fat.
  • Easy to reach from across Los Angeles: our Redondo Beach clinic is open seven days a week, with weekend appointments for people who work during the week.

Our shoulder patients in Los Angeles include swimmers, golfers, tennis and pickleball players, weightlifters and people whose jobs keep their arms overhead. We plan shoulder stem cell therapy around the activities you want to get back to and are clear about what it can and cannot do.

Preparing for Shoulder Stem Cell Therapy and Recovery Afterward

Bring any shoulder X-ray, ultrasound or MRI reports, a list of medications and a short history of what you have tried, such as physical therapy, cortisone injections or surgery. Tell us at booking if you take blood thinners or anti-inflammatory medication, because we may give you instructions before treatment.

After shoulder stem cell therapy, most patients go home the same day and return to light daily use of the arm soon after. We usually ask you to avoid heavy lifting and hard overhead training for a short period, then build back gradually, often with a physical therapist. Improvement in tendon pain tends to come over weeks to months, and we follow up to track your range of motion, strength and comfort.
